Some mornings I just struggle to get out the door for my run. Mostly it’s fear of performance, my legs are tight and I’m sleepy and I just know my time will be “slow.” That critical voice creeps into my head.
So this morning I searched the web for inspiration and came across this interview of a 61 year old ultra runner, Maria Shields, on irunfar.com (great site by the way!).
This morning’s run will likely still be groggy and slow, but I’m going to go do it. I’ll use it to shake out the tension in my legs and just remember my real goal, the one I set when I first started – to still be running when I’m 70!
Let’s move it people!
Have you read about Fauja Singh? The guy started running in his 80’s and is still going. (He’s 100 now) Amazing!
I have read about him, he is amazing! It’s never to late to start!
